Today, the Public Service Pension Trust Fund (PSPTF) held an orientation session with Principal Secretaries from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
In his remarks, the Board Chairperson for the PSPTF Board of Trustees, James Daire Kumwenda, said the PSPTF embarked on a sensitisation drive to address an information gap that was exposed through its engagement with contributory pension scheme desk officers who are found in all MDAs and district councils.
Secretary for Human Resource Management and Development, Blessings Chilabade, hailed the PSPTF for the initiative as it was important for the Principal Secretaries to appreciate the progress made so far and their role in supporting the operations of the Fund.
During the meeting, participants were taken through a presentation by the Principal Officer of the PSPTF, George Jim, which provided an overview, current stand, challenges, and progress made regarding the Fund. Another presentation by Zamara Pension Administrators’ Managing Director, Ekari Chauluka, gave a perspective on data management and challenges being faced in the administration of the contributory pension scheme
Similar initiatives held as part of the sensitisation drive include meeting District Commissioners in all three regions, representatives of trade unions, and public servants under the contributory pension scheme which is managed by the PSPTF.
